the story of growing our family

We recently realized that sometimes it’s ok to do this. So this is the story about what we had to go through in order to grow our family.
It’s the little things in life that we take for granted, like conceiving a baby naturally. This is something that my husband and myself can not do. I won’t tell you everything because that would be a SUPER long post, but here is a smaller version.
So my husband had a vesctomy years ago and to reverse it, it would cost us nine thousand at the least with a very low chance of getting me pregnant. So we looked into IVF which is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo to the uterus. The procedure would run us about twenty five thousand a pop, which we can not afford. So we then were thinking about adoption, but I would want a baby, not a toddler and the price for that was really high as well. So we sat back down with our doctor and said what are some other options.
We went home and talked about it finally deciding that getting a sperm donor would be the better option for us. So we made a go fund me page after about two weeks of taking about it. We raised enough to do the first Intrauterine insemination (IUI) which is the placing of sperm into a woman’s uterus when she is ovulating. Then spent hours looks through all the choices finally narrowing it down to one. Sadly, our first try didn’t take. We then turned to friends and family once again for help raising the money.
We are about to have our second try but this time we are more on to what needs to happen and when. We are SOO over whelmed with all of the love and support from our friends and family. As I am writing this today we go in for another IUI…I am nervous, we really want this to work this time. We go in for an appointment in two weeks to take a pregnancy test, until then i have to think positive, but not to positive.
So the second IUI did not take. It really hit me hard once again, so we decided to take a break. Our next plan is for me to donate eggs (since I have more then the average woman) to help other women who need help. In that case it will help us save money so that we can afford to do an IVF which has a higher chance. Like I said we are taking a break but we have a plan to help and hopefully succeed this next time around.
Thanks for all the support! We will keep you up to date as soon as we have more info.
